Our 2024 Day of Remembrance events were filled with food and music this year! Renowned musical artist, Kishi Bashi, came to perform in Idaho sharing not only his music but also a screening of “Omoiyari: A Song Film By Kishi Bashi” with Boise, Twin Falls, and the Wood River Valley. He also worked with students at CSI and One Stone School and answered questions at every event.

On the culinary side of things, we offered five extraordinary experiences of storytelling through food with 2023 James Beard Award winner Kris Komori of KIN Boise. Guests dined on a unique 7 course food and beverage menu designed by Komori which paid tribute to the 13,000 Japanese Americans unjustly incarcerated at Minidoka during WWII. For Komori, a descendant of Japanese Canadian incarcerees, this menu held deep significance.
