Betty Sims, in loving memory of Robert Sims

Robert Sims, a Boise State University history professor, devoted most of his professional life to educating himself and others on the unjust incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. He came to believe strongly that the teaching of American history needed to include our mistakes as well as our accomplishments and that education could play a key role in preventing such actions in the future.

The Robert C. Sims Community Education Fund was established by Friends of Minidoka to honor his work after his death in 2015, and I am happy to commit to a three-year pledge to help continue this emphasis on teacher training and student learning.
