NEH-NEA-ILMS Presentation

Friends of Minidoka was honored to present for Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Month to the Special Observances committee, a joint event with staff of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Institute for Library and Museum Studies. NEH Chair Shelly Lowe opened the event by greeting participants in the Diné Bizaad language and discussed the importance of inclusive storytelling. Robyn Achilles, Executive Director, and Camille Daw, Graduate Fellow, provided a brief history of Japanese American incarceration, discussed its lessons and legacy, and shared the mission and work of Friends of Minidoka. 80 people attended the virtual event.
