Shane Sato's The Go For Broke Spirit at Boise State University

From November 1, 2023 through February 18, 2024 the Albertsons Library at Boise State University is hosting Shane Sato’s portrait collection of service members from the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 100th Battalion, and the Military Intelligence Service.

The exhibit showcases twenty-five striking portraits of veterans in their true “Go For Broke” Spirit based on Shane’s Portraits of Courage and Portraits of Legacy books, (available for purchase here). In a 2018 video about the exhibit, Shane reflects, “For me, this project is to help other families talk, like my family never did.”

The exhibit was brought to Boise State through collaboration between Albertsons Library, Boise State Veteran Services Center, University Affairs, and community member COL (Ret) Tom Greco, US Army.
